Fortune-hunting Renee Delaveaux marries the Count de Carney to get her hands on his money. But she falls into a liaison with the Count's ward, Pierre Cavereaux, a handsome young soldier. Pierre, however, betrays her by seducing and marrying the Count's niece Bella. The furious Renee brings the quadrangle crashing down when she attempts murder.
