How to Sub-Let
The Doakes are subletting their furnished apartment. It's Sunday morning and as Mrs. Doakes is heading to church, her husband, Joseph Doakes, is responsible for showing the apartment to prospective tenants, a task on which he is not too keen as he would rather lounge around for the day. He is still in his sleeping robe when the first prospective tenants, Mr. & Mrs. Mustavas, come by with the renting agent. As the Mustavases wander around, Doakes tries his hardest to hide the many imperfections of the apartment to varying degrees of success. He is also woefully uninformed of many of the aspects of the apartment despite having lived there for quite some time. By the end of the Mustavases' visit, none of it may matter.
