Perils of the Royal Mounted
Columbia Pictures 18th serial (between 'Captain Midnight' and 'The Secret Code'). The trading post of Sitkawan, Canada is stunned one morning to learn that the previously peaceful Indians attacked and massacred the settlers aboard a fur-bearing wagon train. Particularly distressed is Richard Winton (Herbert Rawlinson), who had been planning on building a railroad through the wilderness. Sergeant MacLane (Robert Kellard)( investigates and finds that the attackers were really renegade white men led by Mort Ransome (Kenneth MacDonald). Ransome has conspired with Black Bear (Nick TYhompson'), medicine man of the tribe, who persuades a number of rebellious braves to take the warpath. He also learns that two white renegades have kidnapped Diana Blake (Nell O'Day), daughter of the local post factor. MacLane saves Diana from a runaway wagon just before it plunges over a cliff, and pursues the warring Indians and Ransome's renegades for 14 more chapters concluding with Chapter 15, 'The Mountie Gets His Man.'
