The film begins with a wife asking her poor husband if she is fat--a no-win situation most husbands can relate to--even almost 100 years after this film debuted. So, out of desperation, the husband has a plan--to trick the wife and end her obsessive worrying about her weight. Naturally, it backfires and she discovers his ruse. A timeless problem if I've ever seen one! Back in the old days of silents, movie theaters sometimes trimmed films or re-cut them. And, often, bits and pieces of the films have just disintegrated over years due to the ravages of time. Regardless of why, I wonder if the ending of "Her Obsession" is missing, as it seems to end prematurely. But even if it is the case, it's a cute little film that is timeless!
