Vera's doctor informs her she is subject to fits of amnesia during which time she becomes a kleptomaniac stealing everything that isn't nailed down. It isn't long before a necklace is stolen from the home of the police commissioner and Vera has a new necklace. Vera's isn't stolen but she thinks it is.
