Mahanisa

'Mahanisha' is the story of a poor mother and daughter. Soudamini and Aparna (Opi). Poverty forces Soudamini to seek the help of her estranged grandfather but Opi doesn't accept his help. Opi and Nirmal's marriage is fixed. Nirmal leaves for Burma in search of job and promises to come back and marry her. Nirmal is forced to marry Dhira, the blind and helpless daughter of his father's friend. After this incident Soudamini shifts to her grandfather's residence with her daughter. But grandfather and Soudamini's death brings further distress in Opi's life. Bihari is the only person who supports her. In the mean time Dhira realizes that Nirmal is disturbed because of their marriage and she commits suicide. The lovers are united.
