Farewell to Poverty

World War I is over and in Europe a new social class emerges, consisting of people called the "newly rich", who appear in Greece a bit later, but are slowly degrading the Athenian "good society". The traditional society is critical and sarcastic towards the caprices of the newly rich, who constantly copy the Parisian hobbies and eccentricities.
