The much acclaimed movie had a simple ,storyline of a honest middle class family of Husband ( Ashwath), wife ( Pandari Bai) and their three children struggling to make the ends meet. The simple wants and desires of the children can not be fulfilled because of the poor economic conditions of the family.A spoilt brat in the neighborhood creates problems.The trials and tribulations of the family, the rebelliousness of the eldest son all get resolved happily.A well made film, it received many awards at the State and National level, as well as the Filmfare best film award for the year.
