The movie starts most abruptly, a guy with an accordion getting beaten by a gang. An accordion is reason enough for a beating. He flees and hides. A pretty girl invites him into her home, lets him bathe, and gives him clean clothes. At about 30 minutes in the bad guys smash his accordion. He suddenly turns into a martial arts master and beats about a dozen men at once. This makes me wonder why he allowed others to beat him up two times before and why he didn't start to fight just before they destroyed his accordion instead of doing nothing. The star of this movie can be found today in Washington state where he teaches Tae Kwon Do. He looks great especially considering he must be pushing age 70 by now. I think he looks better now than he did in this movie. My copy is a digital file that plays as wide screen on a HDTV. The video is typical of a scratchy old film with washed out color. The dialog is dubbed into English and subtitles are Spanish. What about the fights? That's always the big question. Back in 1976 the South Korean martial arts movie business had a simple model. Copy Hong Kong. This was well done here. The fights are good enough to look like Hong Kong movie fights and there were plenty of fights. I rate this movie, along with so many others, as average for the year and genre.
