In Amsterdam, on a White Christmas night, Lola, a beautiful young widow - and also a prostitute - pays John, a sailor passing through the city, to give her young daughters a real father and a traditional Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, John has to rejoin his crew for an immediate departure.
