Gwendoline, a sentimental scrub woman, loves a business man who has offices in her building on the top floor of a skyscraper. Forbidden to use the elevator, she climbs the stairs many times a day in order to see the boss. He ignores her and her sentimental day dreams anger the janitor, who loves the stenographer, who is also worshiped by a clerk. She loves the boss and Cupid seems to have bewildered all the people in the building. One day a Black Hand man who has been refused money by the boss wrecks the office and Gwendoline saves the day and is liberally rewarded by the boss, who saves her from suicide. She sinks into bis arms a happy woman.
