Molly Malone loves Paddy, but he leaves for England and ends up joining the British army and is sent to the front in the early days of WW1. Back in Ireland, Mick wants to marry Molly and is cursing Paddy who still holds Molly's affection. Molly has dreams of the two men fighting each other and of her reunion with Paddy.
