Jang Jun-ho loses his sight during the Korean War in an act of heroism that saves the life of his commanding officer Kang Dong-su. Years later, they meet again in civilian life and Dong-su agrees to pay for Jun-ho's operation which will restore his sight. He also promises to help Jun-ho locate his former girlfriend whom he could not locate after the war.
