Rural South Texas - 1975. Ten year old Jesse is fascinated with the lore of Lone Wolf, a chief of the Kiowa nation who 'returns fallen warriors to their maker'. His obsession with trying to summon the spirit of the tribal leaderoffers refuge from the harsh reality of his abusive household. When he receives the Dreamcatcher as a gift, the line between his fantasies and reality begins to blur.
