A policeman, Larkin, returns to a low-rent appliance repair shop to investigate the disappearance of a homeless man. Meyer, the owner, an ex-convict, turns out to be a man of many secrets. Eventually, Larkin discovers a woman hidden in the stockroom. With her help, he uncovers a sorid tale of sex and violence that leads back into his own childhood. Inthe end he must decide whether to exact revenge for a tragedy he can scarcely bear to fully recall.
