Set in the middle of a Cleveland winter, Static mixes narrative fragments with documentary footage to explore a dark night of rejection, detachment, and isolation. After the sun sets, three young men must cope with humiliation and loss against a backdrop of snow-swept streets and a frozen city. Shot entirely on digital video and making use of the technology's unique qualities, 'Static' builds a montage of cold light that draws connections between the bleak emotional and environmental landscapes.
