From the dust jacket: A poignant drama presents the problems faced by a family of Vietnamese boat people as they first settle into a North American community. Frm the processing center to their meetings with sponsors, landlords and shopkeepers, the Tran family must cope with the difficulties of language, climate, bigotry, and personal tragedy. The sponsors, too, come to realize the extent of their commitment to provide for a refugee family. when a major crisis occurs, the two families are drawn together and find a common denominator through which they can communicate.
