In a nightmare vision of a perfect future, individuals are tracked and controlled through their consumer profiles. Prearranged couples are matched by agencies in order to create a stable society with no individuality. John is a romantic outsider seemingly unmatchable whose deadline has come: he is forced to choose between integration and an illegal love.
