Alge is a young man who has lost both of his legs below the knees, and must wear prosthetic legs. Nonetheless, he is steadfast in his determination to learn to dance, despite the best efforts of his friend Sue to get him to try another hobby. His inventiveness, Sue's sewing and the willing participation of a respondent to a newspaper ad lead to his eventual success.
