Ernie Pyle was the most beloved war correspondent this nation has ever known. This film tells the story of WW II from the perspective of the G.I. fighting in war. Pyle's best columns - from the bombing in London (1939) to the end of the war in the Pacific (1945) - are utilized in first person.
