Cliff is a bellhop in a hotel, where a cranky old Southern Colonel makes life hard for everybody, especially Cliff. The reason the Colonel is cranky is because he suffers from a bad case of gout, and Cliff, and everybody and lots of things, keep stumbling over or on his heavily-bandaged foot.
