Elijah, a young, African-American grocery store bagger, defends the life of an Hasidic Jewish customer during the height of the racially motivated Crown Heights riots in Brooklyn, New York. When two of his neighborhood friends threaten violence due to racial tensions that flare in this largely Hasidic Jewish/Black neighborhood, Elijah makes a split-second decision that he'll never regret.
