Che is growing up with hippie parents in the 70s and there are no strict rules for him. The exact opposite is true for Allan (the 'Me' from the title) whose single mother is very strict. But he has the scooter that Che wants but can't afford. Both boys envy the others life, and they develop a strange relationship that culminates (and ends) in a plan to run away with the scooter. Many years later Allan recognizes his old friend, but he is no longer the same...
