In November 2002, the oil tanker Prestige caused the biggest ecological disaster to hit the Spanish coastline. The Prestige was a ship that sank off the coast of Galicia, causing a spill of crude oil. From there arose a movement that organised a wave of solidarity to clean up the affected coastline and demanded environmental, judicial and political responsibilities. The devastating effects of the Prestige achieved the rectification of the PP government on the legislation of the navigation of single-hull oil tankers on the Spanish coasts. Bringing the legislation into line with that of other countries such as France, which already prohibited the navigation of these ships along their coasts. If there had been legislation such as that of the other countries of the European Union, the magnitude of the ecological catastrophe would have been avoided. This documentary aims, through the testimonies of all the sectors involved, to shed light on the questions that remain unanswered more than a year after the sinking. A work touring the entire community of Cantabria in search of testimonies of people who experienced the disaster in the first person, because the crude oil filled all the beaches of the Cantabrian coast without mercy. The coasts of Cantabria have received more than 20,000 tons of fuel oil since the date of the shipwreck. The documentary counted with the participation, among others, of the Councillor for the Environment of Cantabria, José Ortega Valcárcel, representatives of the fishermen's guilds of the community and researchers from the university who intervened in the detection and control of the spill. Also reflected are the opinions of experts in maritime safety and those responsible for the environmental groups that managed the work of volunteers in Cantabria.
