Three-Minute Fuse
This entry in the Floyd Gibbons' series of "Your True Life Adventures" tells the story of Oklahoma well-digger Clair Bigler when, after lighting a three-minute fuse and the well bottom to blast through the last rock strata, he is being hauled up by a rope which breaks, hurtling him back to the well bottom. Though unconscious and painfully injured, his work crew manages to get him to safety before the dynamite explodes.
