Follow the Sun

Follow the Sun is about a migrant shelter for Central American men in Mexico City. The film's main characters are Gaby, the shelter's maverick director, and Carlos, a Salvadoran trying to make his way back to the United States after being deported. But the film also shows the community of men who find themselves searching for a way to improve their lives. Over the course of the film, you hear Carlos' story and understand why he chose to face enormous risks and join a caravan on the way to the United States. You see one migrant learn that his brother has been murdered and must make the excruciating decision to turn back to bury him or continue to the US. Follow the Sun captures the hardships the men face as migrants, and the bonds they build to give them the strength to continue forward.
