A young writer rents an apartment in a block of flats. During the writing he is disturbed by a dog he can hear barking through the apartment walls. Hoping to find him, he goes exploring the building. On the stairway he meets a neighbour, and they grow close. Unsuspecting, he accepts her invitation to lunch.
