**spoilers below*** A young boy ignores his yucky breakfast while a cartoon plays on the video wall behind him. His father, Kurt, kisses him goodbye as he goes to work, and boy tells him to "Drive offensively, daddy." He leaves in an AI car named Marilyn that tells him he is late for his first appointment. Cruising in a desert littered with rusted, bullet-ridden vehicles, his car's radar detects another car ahead. This other car, driven by Zig, won't let Kurt pass. Instead, he start firing from a machine gin mounted on the roof. Marilyn switches to battle mode and an autoduel is on. Marilyn is severely damaged from Zig's rocket attacks, but Kurt executes a bootlegger's reverse (180º spin) and they end up in a Mexican standoff. Kurt wins, and he drives into work. His secretary says his appointment canceled because a luck shot gave him "car trouble." Kurt goes to his office as the Director of Transportation.
