Cosplay, más que disfrazarse

The general public is getting more used to see very impressive and detailed costumes from each of their favorite comics, series or movies, but ignoring that it's called 'cosplay'. Cosplaying, beyond of the amusing and striking idea of 'wearing a costume', means a lot of hours of thorough handcrafted effort and investigation, from sewing all kind of fabrics to styling a wig or painting yourself entirely blue using makeup, like a fictional species. In addition, cosplayers have to cope with the stress of finishing it before the convention deadline, dealing with their regular jobs and social lives, besides the huge amount of money invested and sometimes even giving up their sleep and spare times, putting their health and diet at a high risk. If this takes so much effort, why is it worth it?
