Set in the rainy 1950s logging community of Comox, British Columbia, a working-class family has an unexpected dinner guest invite himself over for the evening - the catalyst for this tale about promises made and broken. When 10 year old Jack reveals his unlikely dream of becoming a movie-maker to the guest (who is there with a secret agenda), a promise of a film camera is extended, then betrayed. The hope is re-kindled in a new more meaningful way the next morning. Based on the short story by Jack Hodgins.
