Atoms

Atoms is a creative project between Alex McPake and Stephen Shelmerdine that began as a conversation on a patio. Within 12 hours Atoms was written, shot, scored and edited. In this playfully poignant micro-short, the audience is guided through the atom based musings of a young man as he teeters on the edge of the rabbit hole. Atoms is the first in a series of short films completed by Alex and Stephen within this 12 hour time-frame. Something they implemented as a creative challenge in a bid to shift the focus from talking about making films together to actually doing so. Shifting the focus of filmmaking away from creating the most ideal finished product and moving it more towards finding immense gratification in the process itself is the very reason they embarked on this creative challenge.
