Yüzlerle Konusmak - Kieslowski'ye Atif

In 1980, Kieslowski filmed a documentary called 'Talking Heads'. In the film, from age 1 to 100, people were asked to answer 2 questions; 'Who are you?' and 'What do you want?' This film documented in the year 2018, tributing to Kieslowski, in order to find out the result in another time and space. How were the answers differentiated from each other? What was the scale ratio of geography and time between two films? How did Kieslowski conducted his movie in 1980 and as Kinoeyes how did we conducted our film? Why were these 2 questions selected? Who are we and what do want? The goal of this film is to have the pulse of a society, by using the medium of image. A search for another sociology based on the images and it's editing - referring to Soviet era film-maker Dziga Vertov. The given answers in Balikesir/Turkey were more precisely based on culture, class, society, gender and ethnicity - where the difference between two films/two times/two spaces appear. Some of the answers were unexpectedly simple but also very much emotional and thoughtful at the same time. A video-philosophical discussion is what is sought by our collective; by screening 2 documentaries in a row (or the last one from Turkey only), we would like to share emotions and discuss 2 geographies and times. Political, video-philosophical spaces would be much appreciated to discuss alternative/counter ways of making films against the conventional idea of film/documentary making.
