Beautysleep Symphony

Connie Cannell is the "Domestic Editor" of the small town newspaper who spends her days chasing stories of odd-shaped vegetables. Stuck in a dead-end marriage to Harvey, Connie yearns for passion. Connie is frequently visited by her muse, Spitfire, who articulates Connie's underused sense of passion and bluntness, and fun often summoning up Connie's romantic ideal in the spectacular Euroman. Connie's life takes a sharp turn when Darla Jean, a colorful Texan, moves into a house down the street and the two become instant friends. They joke about being Thelma and Louise and head out to the big city where she can start a new life and dare to do what she has always dreamed of doing - writing a book. Connie places an ad asking for submissions of "humorously sexy" stories to be used in her book. Connie receives a response from The Voyeur who works in a film lab. He invites Connie to a private screening of his collection. She leaves the viewing room aware of how naive she is. In the course of buying a car, she becomes friends with a delightful elderly woman Winnie who bakes magic brownies, and is a proponent of getting senior sex represented in the book. While visiting the newspaper she bumps into Bryce Maidstone, the handsome publisher and man of her dreams, who is himself a frustrated author who dreams of sailing around the world where he is sure he will find himself. The Voyeur invites her to a second session which surprisingly reveals something that changes Connie's life forever.
