Chispy is a 10-year-old boy who lives in the poorest slum of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. He shares a double bed with the rest of his family and doesn't go to school. It's early outside and Chispy wakes up to go surfing. He travels to the rich side of town to pick up his board from a friend. The sea is flat in Cartagena, so Chispy travels to Tayrona in order to reach his waves.
