Piero, an intrusive old man, knocks on his young neighbour's door: he needs to go to a police station, looking for his wife. Reluctantly, Elio agrees but takes someone else with them on the trip: Layla, his ex-girlfriend's ferret. During the trip, these two men will help each other to accept the loss of their women, not without misunderstandings.
