A man is ambushed in a quiet alley and bundled in to the back of a van. Across town, a beautiful blonde is getting ready for an important occasion. She starts to daydream. A courier drops a package off at the police station. A tired-looking detective in shirtsleeves fishes a DVD out of the jiffy bag and puts it on. A blue test image crackles on to the screen and the policemen start to stir. Later, the woman sits alone at the table, staring at the slow-burning candles in front of her. She jumps at the shrill ring of her doorbell. The door opens on to a couple of police officers standing apologetically in front of her.
