Osvald Alving is called back to his family mansion, in order to receive his part of the family fortune. As he enters the Alving residence, he finds his old home neglected and dark, and only a shadow of the place he grew up in. The house holds many secrets and questions within its walls. Osvald's return forces these secrets to surface, ultimately turning all his knowledge upside down.
