After a night of drinking in Los Angeles, Mark and Natalie, two transplants from Hawaii, retire to a friend's apartment where their drunken discussion touches upon notions of art, loneliness, and the inability to communicate. Inspired by the films of Éric Rohmer and Hong Sang Soo, 'November Ninth, We Stayed Up Late' is a personal look at the ways in which we attempt to bridge the gaps - between places and between each other.
