Roger, a securities analyst who also plays third violin for St. Paul's Episcopal Orchestra, is trapped in a stairwell just below the roof of Two World Trade before it collapses. Having heard that the door to the roof is their escape route, two co-workers, Tom and Val, pass Roger in the stairwell and learn from him that the roof exit is locked. These three strangers thrown together by circumstance must find a way home before time runs out.
