Stephanie is the young maid of a fifty year old lawyer, Suzanne Borgeat, and of her husband. She takes advantage of their absence during the day to occupy their luxurious villa and to have a taste of the bourgeois comfort. Only at night does she come back to the reality of her small apartment, of her modest and oppressing life. Increasingly attracted by Suzanne Borgeat's milieu, Stephanie will use the woman's weakness to engage in a duel and take control of the house.
