A brilliant, yet meek military scientist named Todd Spindly is ordered to build a mind control machine to extract secrets from a Soviet prisoner. Despite reservations, Todd pushes forward, aided by his manic assistant, Herbert. As the deadline approaches however, Herbert's erratic behavior takes a dark turn, and Todd is forced into a battle of wills to gain control of the device - and his own sanity.
