Kin explores the inner mind of Fred, an immigrant from Europe to the United States. Now in the Autumn of his life, Fred remembers those early days -- the tenement on the Lower East Side, and his early life with his father in New York. Today is the day he visits Ellis Island every year -- hoping that one year he may find one of his long-lost family from Europe. By chance he meets a young woman who introduces an older companion. After all these years, Fred finally meets his long lost sister and returns home in reflective mood.
