Host Art Ford supplemented his core group of semi-regular performers such as Tyree Glenn and Coleman Hawkins with such renowned singer and instrumentalist guests as Kenny Burrell, Teddy Charles, Buck Clayton, Roland Hanna, Billie Holiday, Dick Hyman, Abby Lincoln, Ben Webster and Lester Young.
