When precocious 15 year-old Angela is caught writing love letters to a prison inmate, Billy, her parents set out to put a stop to it. While Angela's father, Bob, tries to put the shackles on her growing independence, his wife, Rose, tries to deceive Billy into thinking Angela does not want to be in his life anymore. While Angela eludes the clutches of her father's control at every turn, the inmate foils Rose's scheme and makes a frightening assertion of his will to remain with Angela.
