The Brave New Voices national 'Poetry Slam' train derailed in Los Angeles for five days of open-mic poetry. With rising stars such as Dahlak Brathwaite, Clark Perry, and Jennifer Wong, the 2004 edition may have been the best youth spoken word festival to date.
