Halfway to Fifty

There are many forms of guilt, but disappointing your mother solely by your existence is the guilt Amanda has to bear. And accept. After realizing that her mother had her at her current age of 25, Amanda realizes she's the farthest thing from what her mom expected her to be. Amanda explores her identity, promiscuity with male and female identifying people, and tries using her voice more loudly to combat oppressive systems and the patriarchy. Hindered by the fact that Amanda doesn't feel able to share her true authentic self with the person who matters the most - her mom, she realizes in therapy how much she fears losing her mother and how much that impacts her present day relationships. She tells herself she's a hilarious badass bitch who doesn't care about what mother thinks, but in reality, she's walking on eggshells. Halfway To Fifty highlights these two entirely different yet beautifully paralleled lives of mother and daughter.
