In a world where a biotechnology company called "Actilife" has invented a way for individuals to restart their life with a procedure called "The Fresh Start", Arthur, a 68 year-old Alaskan fisherman and widower struggles with arthritis that keeps him from being able to work. Days before his son, Ryan, a hustling New York businessman and his lawyer wife, Emily, are preparing to visit Arthur, he gets approved for the "Actilife" procedure. The film centers on Arthur's decision on whether or not to restart his life, and the various factors that affect his decision including running into an old friend who has already done the procedure, and receiving surprising news from his son.
