Madison is floating through life: going to work, spending time with friends, talking to her mother. The only catch, she is never able to actually take anything in. She is caught up with her own emotions, unable to move on from her brother's suspect death. Madison resists everyone who tries to intervene in her isolated state of being, and when she is pushed too far, she ventures to the river where her brother met his death.
