Anna works in the mines while her father Daniel attends school to be reeducated as part of the new world order. At the end of a long day, Anna and Daniel make their way home. After dinner, their district is locked down. Criminals are at large in their neighborhood. A stranger seeks refuge in their home. He disturbs Daniel's sealed minds. But minds, like districts, should remain locked down while criminals are about, and there are strict laws regarding strangers.
