Big Age

A tale of four black twenty-something friends tackling life's ups and downs in East London. I think it was a mistake to label Big Age as a comedy as it's more of a light drama/soap in Hollyoaks/Skins territory.Stylishly shot and directed with a good cast of young actors there was a lot to like about it. The dialogue in particular was snappy and humorous.It fell down with the storyline which was too flimsy for a pilot episode - Sade has packed in her job to become a writer and is scared to tell her Mum - so she gets a new outfit and goes out with her mates instead.Not awful, not great, but could be a winner with some tweaks. If it becomes a series it needs more work developing the characters and the storyline - why does Sade want to be a writer and why's it important to her? Etc. Give us something more substantial to buy into and hook us.
